CLEVELAND - The name of the man shot and killed following a robbery at a Cleveland east side fashion store has been identified.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office says Abou Kane, 54, died from a single gunshot wound.
The fatal shooting happened Friday around 7:55 p.m. at Well's Fashion Clothing store on Kinsman Avenue.
Cleveland police said two suspects tried to rob the store and as they were fleeing, Kane, the store owner, attempted to chase them down. During the pursuit, one of the suspects shot Kane, police said.
Fourth district officers arrived to the scene and found Kane with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was taken by EMS to MetroHealth Medical Center where he later died from the injuries.
