CLEVELAND - A man who was found dead in Lake Erie off North Marginal Road Thursday has been identified by the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner Monday.
They said the victim is Fred Brandon, 67, of Maple Heights.
Due to decomposition of the body, which was found naked, the medical examiner’s office was initially unable to provide identification.
An employee who works at the Gordon Shore Boat Club spotted the body, which he first thought was a mannequin, just before noon Thursday, according to a police report. After looking at it further, he realized it was a dead body and notified police.
Brandon was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of death remains under review at this time.
