CLEVELAND - An electrical smell on a United flight from JFK to LAX prompted the pilot to divert the plane in Cleveland Sunday night.
Cleveland Hopkins International Airport spokeswoman Jackie Mayo said United Flight 132 from New York (JFK) to Los Angeles (LAX) safely landed after someone reported smelling smoke coming from a cabin.
Maintenance has checked the aircraft, according to airport officials, and did not find anything suspicious.
"Body of Proof" star Dana Delaney was on the flight and tweeted about the incident:
@ DanaDelany "Maybe being stranded in Cleveland is a sign that I should be on @ hotnclevelandtv . @ bettymwhite where are you?"
@ DanaDelany "Emergency landing on @ United in Cleveland. Who's couch can I crash on?!?"
The alert has been canceled. No one was injured.
