CLEVELAND - Travel Channel star Andrew Zimmern visited Cleveland this weekend and met one of his heroes during his stay.
Zimmern, who hosts the popular show “Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern” was in town this weekend visiting several hot spots in Cleveland including Michael Symon’s Lola, several stands at the West Side Market, The Greenhouse Tavern and Seti’s food truck.
Zimmern documented his travel and eats in Cleveland on Instagram .
Two photos posted on his account shows Zimmern posing with Michelle Knight, who was held captive for more than a decade inside Ariel Castro’s home.
In one photo, Knight and Zimmern are smiling for the camera. Zimmern writes, “Set visit today from one of my heroes… Michelle Knight is an inspiration. Turns out food is her first love…. And her future!”
In another photo, Zimmern is seen listening to Michelle. In his post, Zimmern says food is Knight’s passion and her favorite ingredient is avocado. She also tells him Latin flavors are her “go-to.”
“Incredible woman,” he wrote on his Instagram photo.
Zimmern is a two-time James Beard Award-winning TV personality, chef, food writer and teacher, according to Travel Channel.
