CLEVELAND - Six small children and one adult escaped from their burning home on East 54th Street in Cleveland around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday.

According to Cleveland EMS, everyone was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center but only an infant was being checked for injuries.

Cleveland firefighters said the fire's cause is known, but they were not releasing the details until an investigation could be completed.

The home was a total loss, and the Red Cross will be helping the family with a place to live.

No injuries to firefighters were reported.
