EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio - Authorities are investigating an East Cleveland neighborhood after finding a severely decomposed body Sunday afternoon.
The unidentified body was found in the 1600 block of Collamer Ave. around 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
East Cleveland police said the body was found in a vacant building that was bought through auction. A cleaning crew discovered the remains Sunday morning when they opened a closed door.
Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner Powell Caesar said bones were found next to the deceased body. The bones do not belong to the deceased person.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office will perform an autopsy to determine the person's identity and cause of death. No other information has been released at this time.
