CLEVELAND - Seven fathers in Cuyahoga County have been indicted for not paying child support. Combined, the men owe $97,193.82.
Maurice Pettis, 43, of Cleveland, was indicted on six counts of criminal non-support. He owes $32,910.22 for his 8 and 10 year old daughters. Pettis last made a child support payment in 2009 in the amount of $55.36.
Records show Tony Oglesby, 45, of Cleveland, owes $27,850.18 for his now 22-year-old child. A payment in the amount of $306.75 was last made in August 2010.
Robert Miller, 53, of Chesterland, has two kids, ages 16 and 19, and is said to owe $8,634.59. A child support payment of $350 was last made in August 2011.
Sean Gauthier, 36, of Cleveland, is said to owe $8,375.05 for his 8-year-old child. Gauthier last made a payment in August 2011 in the amount of $217.
Court records show Michael Watkins, 25, of Cleveland, was indicted on a pair of criminal non-support charges. Court records indicate he owes $7,588.40 for his 4-year-old. The last time he made a payment was in January 2011 for $88.41.
Kenneth Sanney, 27, of Cleveland, owes $6,677.40 for his 8-year-old. The court said he last made a payment in December for $55.
Thomas Moon, 26, of Cleveland, owes $5,157.98 for his 5-year-old. The court said he has never paid a penny in child support.
All seven dads will be arraigned on March 29.
Criminal non-support is a felony that carries a maximum one-year prison sentence.
A joint investigation by the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency (CSEA) and the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office led to the indictments.
