CLEVELAND - The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland has announced its 2013 inductees, with one popular band finally making the list.

At the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, Red Hot Chili Peppers' bassist and 2012 Rock Hall inductee, Flea, announced the 2013 performer inductees:

- Heart
- Albert King
- Randy Newman
- Public Enemy
- Rush
- Donna Summer

Up for the Ahmet Ertegun (non-performer) Award:

- Lou Adler
- Quincy Jones

"We are thrilled to announce this year's class of inductees, which again represents the broad, compelling and significant definition of rock and roll," said Joel Peresman, president and CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation.

The 28th annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held at the Nokia Theatre on April 18. The ceremony will be open to the public, as it was in 2009 and 2012 in Cleveland. It will be broadcast on HBO May 18 at 9 p.m.

Tickets for the induction ceremony go on sale January 25 by visiting www.rockhall.com.

Ballots will be sent to an international voting body of more than 600 artists, historians and members of the music industry. To be eligible for a nomination, an artist or group had to have released a first single or album at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination. The nominees also had to release their first recording no later than 1987.

New this year was the opportunity the Rock Hall gave to fans by having them participate in the induction selection process. Fans cast votes for who they thought was most deserving of a nomination. The top five artists, creating a "fan's ballot," were tallied in with other ballots to get the six inductees.
