SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio - Fire crews worked to rescue residents and douse flames after fire engulfed the Oliver House Apartments in Shaker Heights early Monday morning.
Just after 1 a.m., Shaker Heights firefighters were dispatched to the Oliver House Apartments at 3715 Warrensville Center Road for an apartment fire that traveled to the building’s fifth floor.
Beachwood, Cleveland Heights and University Heights firefighters were also called to the scene to help rescue tenants trapped inside.
After nearly two hours of fighting the blaze, at least one firefighter was taken from the scene.
Injuries remain unknown at this time.
