CLEVELAND - Cleveland firefighters battled a house fire on West 50th Street near Detroit Avenue just after midnight Thursday.

According to Cleveland fire dispatch, the home was occupied. The people inside were able to get out safely.

The number of people living in the home was not released but a dispatcher said that the Red Cross was called to help those displaced.

The home did not have much visible exterior damage but did appear to suffer extensive interior damage.

No word on what caused the fire.
