CLEVELAND - Cleveland police are reporting a pedestrian was fatally struck Thursday morning.
The accident happened at about 2:15 a.m. in the area of E. 93rd Street and George Avenue.
The victim was taken to MetroHealth Medical center where he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner identified the victim as Aaron Nance, 37, of Cleveland.
The preliminary investigation by police shows Nance was crossing E. 93rd Street & George Avenue and was struck by a 1997 Hyundai Tiburon that was going southbound on E. 93rd Street. After hitting the victim the driver of the Hyundai stopped, called 911 and is cooperating with police.
Police said speed was not a factor.
It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drug use was a factor in the crash.
