CLEVELAND - A long-time restaurant in downtown Cleveland’s Warehouse District announced Wednesday it is closing its doors at the end of the year.

Lindsay Killian, spokeswoman for CraftWorks Restaurants and Breweries, said in a news release that the Cleveland ChopHouse & Brewery will permanently close after Dec. 31.

The restaurant, located at 845 West St. Clair Ave. – just west of West 6th Street – has been open in that location since 1998.

“We have greatly appreciated the dedication of our Cleveland employees and would like to thank our loyal guests for their patronage over the years,” said Allen Corey, president and CEO of CraftWorks Restaurants and Breweries, Inc.

Killian said the lease was up for the restaurant and the owner decided not to renew. There are currently no plans to reopen the restaurant anywhere in the area.

The other ChopHouse restaurants – located in Denver, Boulder and Washington, D.C. – are not closing, Killian said.

The ChopHouse said it’s hosting a New Year’s Eve party to bid farewell to the restaurant on its final day. Anyone interested in making reservations for the event can call 216-623-0909 or make the reservation online here: http://clevelandchophouse.com
