CLEVELAND - A man has died after being shot on Cleveland’s east side.

Cleveland paramedics tell NewsChannel5 the man was pronounced death upon arrival at a nearby hospital late Tuesday night.

Cleveland police said the man had been shot near a convenience store at East 99th Street and Union Avenue around 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The victim was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center in “very critical condition,” EMS said.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as Duane Jacobs, 57, of Cleveland.

No arrests have been made in connection with the fatal shooting.
