CLEVELAND - NewsChannel5 has learned exclusively that as much as $75 million will be devoted toward the demolition of tens of thousands of homes throughout Ohio.

5 On Your Side has learned that funding will come from the $26 billion foreclosure abuse settlement that will be announced at a 10 a.m. press conference by the Department of Justice.

NewsChannel5 has learned that Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine will announce at a 1 p.m. news conference in Columbus that up to $75 million of the settlement dollars issued to Ohio will be devoted toward demolishing condemned homes that have plagued neighborhoods throughout Northeast Ohio.

For the past two months, NewsChannel5 has worked diligently on this major issue through its Building Better Neighborhoods initiative.
