CLEVELAND - Cleveland police are mourning the sudden loss of one of their own. The department said one of their officers died suddenly Sunday.
The officer, whose name has not been released pending family notification, was on duty at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport on Saturday when she suffered from a sudden illness.
The 14-year veteran on the force was LifeFlighted to University Hospitals where and died Sunday afternoon.
It's not clear what the sudden illness was that took the officer's life.
The department is asking the family's privacy be respected.
Further details of the officer's death are expected next week.
