CLEVELAND - Cleveland police have released the approximate number of officers involved in the chase turned deadly shooting in November.
According to Sgt. Sammy Morris, approximately 61 officers were involved in the 25 minute chase on the night of Nov. 29.
The chase ended in East Cleveland with 13 officers firing 137 rounds, killing Timothy Russell and passenger Malissa Williams.
Authorities said they heard a gunshot outside the Justice Center which prompted the chase turned deadly shooting.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
While the Cleveland Chapter of the ACLU asked Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine to appoint a special prosecutor, the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office will be handling the investigation.
