CLEVELAND - As the school year kicks off for many districts, some students in Cleveland will be heading to a brand new academy.
The Steve Sanders Academy, named for NFL athlete and Cleveland native Steve Sanders, opens to the public Monday, Aug. 29.
The Ohio Community School, located at 4129 Superior Ave., will serve students in grades K-5. A ribbon cutting ceremony opened the new school at 7:30 a.m.
The mission of the school is to "to inspire confidence in its students and support their development into the college graduates, CEO's, entrepreneurs and community leaders of tomorrow."
