CLEVELAND - NewsChannel5 hosted its first-ever #meetandtweet event Monday at Hodges Cleveland on Euclid Avenue.
The Twitter meet-up, or "Tweet-Up," enabled online friends to meet face-to-face and meet NewsChannel5 personalities. The event allowed for networking opportunities and in-person conversations.
Those in attendance enjoyed free appetizers and had the opportunity to win prizes. The Meet & Tweet was a great way to gain new contacts and leads.
"We wanted to plan an event where we could all meet and kind of mingle and get some ideas about what they'd like to see in our newscasts and just get to know who our social media friends are," said NewsChannel5 social media specialist Janet Nguyen Lueken.
Over 100 online friends turned out for the "Tweet-Up."
"This is a great way to get together because it's nice to see the people behind the profile. You don't see that a lot," said Dustie Wadowick of Newbury.
Others enjoyed meeting the people in person who they loyally watch each day on TV.
