CLEVELAND - Cleveland police said a clerk and a burglar are both being charged after a shooting inside the Mini Mart on the city's east side.
The incident happened shortly before 10 a.m. on Euclid Avenue near Wayside Road. According to authorities, a man got into an argument with the Mini Mart clerk while trying to burglarize the store.
It's reported the suspect then kicked in the door where the clerk was standing behind bulletproof glass.
The store clerk then shot the suspect multiple times, hitting the suspect in the stomach, arm and leg.
The suspect, who police said wasn't armed, was taken to MetroHealth Medical Center for his injuries and the clerk was arrested.
The store clerk faces felonious assault and weapons under disability charges, while the suspect will be charged with burglary and robbery.
