CLEVELAND - The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed it was a female's body police found "burned beyond recognition" on Cleveland's east side.
Detectives discovered the female's body behind a vacant home in the 6000 block of Bayliss Ave. near E. 67th Street on Wednesday morning.
Officials are working to identify the female and believe she was burned to death on the property. Cleveland police are treating the death as a homicide.
An autopsy is expected to be completed by Thursday afternoon.
