RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Ohio - A massive search effort is continuing Sunday for the Richmond Heights business owner who was reported missing on Sept. 26.
On Saturday, close to a hundred volunteers turned out to help look for 41-year-old Patrick Borally, who owns Borally’s Catering & Banquet Services. Volunteers headed out east to areas including Chesterland and Mantua.
Borally’s disappearance has been a mystery for his family and for police. The FBI almost immediately got involved in the investigation, but no substantial leads have come in since the case was made public.
“We just want everyone to continue to keep their eyes open for him and please bring him back to us,” his wife Kathy Borally said.
"I have been praying on it and I believe he's okay. He just needs help getting home," Kathy said.
Borally was last seen Monday at his business on Chardon Road in Richmond Heights. He left in the business’ dark blue mini-van, which has the license plate “TAKEOUT.” The van has yet to be located. Dozens of tips and calls came in to police from across Ohio from people who said they thought they saw the van, but nothing has panned out yet. Cleveland FBI spokesman said they currently have 10 agents working on the case.
“I just can’t believe how supportive everyone is. This has renewed my faith in people and how good people are and how much people love us,” Kathy Borally said.
“Sometimes you get cynical and forget. You know, you think people just aren’t on your side. And this just shows how people are on your side and just want the best.”
"He was so good with directions he was so safe. He just was smart. He was a smart driver. He wouldn't have taken a chance," Kathy said.
Volunteers, who started up their efforts at 9 a.m. Saturday with a meeting with the family, are working to reach all areas of the state with fliers to get the word out about Borally’s disappearance. Police are using a helicopter to search wooded areas and off-road places.
Anyone wanting to help with the effort is asked to go to the family business at 27227 Chardon Rd. in Richmond Heights. The family told NewsChannel5 that they are worried their story will lose attention going into the weekend, but they plan to continue looking for Borally. Family members have also set up this web site to help find Borally.
