CLEVELAND - A man was struck and killed by a train in Cleveland just before 9 a.m. Saturday.
Cleveland police said a 66-year-old man was walking eastbound on the tracks near E. 26 th and Lakeside Avenue.
The Norfolk Southern train operator blew the horn and tried to stop the train, but was unable to do so.
When Cleveland emergency personnel arrived, they found the man unresponsive.
He pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s identification was not released, pending notification of family.
Cleveland’s Accident Investigation Unit is investigating.
