CLEVELAND - A 45-year-old man was indicted Friday on 121 charges stemming from a series of sexual assaults on a 12-year-old boy, according to a release from Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason.
Michael Wise, of Cleveland, was indicted on charges of kidnapping, rape, attempted rape, gross sexual imposition, pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material or performance, endangering children, and possessing criminal tools, the release said.
According to investigators, between June 2007 and July 2011 Wise sexually abused a boy who is now 12 years old. Wise allegedly watched the boy for a close friend, and the victim would spend the weekends at Wise’s house.
The boy recently told his father that Wise had touched him inappropriately while he was sleeping.
Wise was arrested on Aug. 18, and the next day investigators executed a search warrant on his residence, taking his computer and a digital media storage device.
An examination of the computer revealed remnants of photographs or videos of the victim either nude or engaged in a sex act with Wise. From that information, investigators conducted an additional search on Wise’s home and retrieved a hard drive that had multiple videos and photos of the victim, and additional child pornography from file sharing websites, the release said.
Wise is scheduled to be arraigned on Oct. 12.
