CLEVELAND - Cleveland police have charged the man say threw a liquor bottle out of his truck after hitting and killing a pedestrian.
Candase Moore, 25, of Cleveland was crossing the street at East 142nd Street and Kinsman Avenue just after 4 p.m. on Tuesday when she was struck by a pick-up truck, police said. She died from her injuries at Meridia South Pointe Hospital.
Police said the driver, 33-year-old Nicholas Carter, stayed at the scene of the crash, but was spotted tossing a liquor bottle into a snow bank. He appeared intoxicated and was placed under arrest, officers said.
On Wednesday, Carter was charged with aggravated vehicular homicide. He is set to appear in court Thursday morning.
