CLEVELAND - A man from northeast Ohio who kept his secret of childhood abuse for four decades is talking about the Jerry Sandusky trial.

Garth Wadleigh kept his secret of childhood abuse for four decades.

"I was a 10-year-old boy and there was another 10-year-old boy involved, and we were led away with the typical story 'can you help me find my dog.' As we were led further away into the woods, the terror happened," said Garth Wadleigh.

Wadleigh said the man who molested him and the other boy threatened to kill them if they told.

"You are worried about the waves you are going to make. Are you going to upset your family. Are you going to upset your friends," said Wadleigh.

At age 50, Wadleigh got help, is going to therapy and found a group of male survivors at the Cleveland Rape Crisis center.

That same month, the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse allegations broke.

"The more people who came forward, the more evidence, in my opinion that he did indeed commit these acts," he said.

Wadleigh hopes with the trial and all the media attention on the Sandusky case, others will know they can tell their story and get help.

He said whatever the verdict, he's worried about the men that had the courage to come forward.

"My concern is, when the trial is over, it's not over for the victims," said Wadleigh.

Calls to Cleveland Rape Crisis Center from men have increased about 300 percent since last fall when the Sandusky case first broke.

For more information or to get help, you can call the center's hotline at 216-619-6192.
