CLEVELAND - An agreement has been reached to delay the closing of Huron Hospital’s trauma center.
Cleveland Clinic President Toby Cosgrove and Congresswoman Marcia Fudge met on Monday with community leaders to address the Clinic’s decision to consolidate the trauma center to Hillcrest Hospital.
According to a news release from Fudge, they agreed to delay closing the Level II Trauma Center for at least 90 days from Monday.
Fudge and Cosgrove also discussed the overall impact on emergency first responders in Cleveland and East Cleveland.
The two leaders also agreed “to better understand the overall impact on MetroHealth Hospital related to patient volume, operations, and resources necessary,” according to Monday’s release.
