CLEVELAND - Blue skies and warm temperatures made Friday's Wade Oval Walk Against Hunger a real pleasure for the hundreds who turned out to support the Harvest For Hunger Campaign.
Many people aren't aware the campaign to support the Cleveland Food Bank continues through June 19.
Every dollar donated to the campaign provides four meals for a needy family in our community. Vice President of External Affairs for the food bank Kristin Warzocha said on Friday that this year's goal is 16 million meals, and the campaign stands at 14 million now.
"We have a ways to go, and each walker here today made 40 meals possible for the families we serve," said Warzocha.
Harvest for Hunger is one of the largest annual, community-wide food and funds drives in the nation. It provides critical resources for twenty one counties in Northeast and North Central Ohio.
