CLEVELAND - It’s a story that has everyone talking: the dress code posted outside the Horseshoe Casino Cleveland.
The code of conduct greets casino visitors and asks them to wear appropriate clothing. But if you walk around downtown Cleveland outside the casino you’ll see people wearing anything from a suit, to a velour track suit to no shirt at all.
"I think it's good because Dan Gilbert wants to establish a nice, clean environment so not to let like hats backwards, hats, pants you know sagging,” said Bobby Coburn, of Canton.
Actually, backwards hats aren’t mentioned on the placards at the casino’s entrances, but hoods on clothing are.
"Dress code is an excellent thing and if I were coming at night, I’d be dressed up more than I am today,” said Mary Roberts, of Lakewood.
"As long as it's not to the point where you have to dress-dress, as long as you're casual, you know. The sagging pants I don't allow that on the street,” said Terry Small, of Cleveland.
While there are 10 rules listed on the signs, there’s really only one people wanted to talk about.
“I mean, nobody wants to see anybody's bloomers,” one woman told NewsChannel5’s John Kosich.
“You come in here, you got these guys with these baggy pants and they sit there and the back of their pants are half down. And they're sitting at the machine. If I want to see crack, I don't want to see it in the casino,” said Len Pawlak, of Lakewood.
Here’s the code of conduct for all guests:
- No firearms permitted on premises.
- Inappropriate behavior, vandalism or running in the casino will be grounds for ejections.
- Appropriate clothing is required at all times, which includes shoes, shirts, pants held on at waist, etc. No offensive messages or pictures may be displayed on clothing. Hoods on all apparel must be worn down (except when playing in the poker room) and face-covering apparel is not permitted.
- Food court seating is for paying customers only.
- In accordance with Ohio Smoking Ban, ORC, Chapter 3794, smoking is not permitted within the casino. Smoking is restricted to designated areas outside Prospect Ave. and Public Square entrance.
- No Smokeless tobacco products are permitted.
- No photographing or videotaping permitted of table games.
- No loitering.
- No soliciting.
- The rules above apply to all areas of the casino, including all gaming areas, food court and buffet.

- "Don't want to see your boxers.” –Della S.
