CLEVELAND - Casino revenue figures for the month of August show the Horseshoe Casino Cleveland posted adjusted gross revenue of $22.85 million in the month of August, off about $1 million from July's revenue figure of $23.9 million.

The bulk of the earnings and the million dollar difference came from slot play, which came out to roughly $15.2 million in August compared to roughly $16.3 million in July.

Table game adjusted gross revenue held steady at $7.67 million compared to July's $7.65 million.

Hollywood Casino figures show the Toledo casino also holding steady in table game revenue with $3.5 million for July and August, while their slot revenue fell $15.57 million in July to $13.84 million in August.

Monthly revenue figures released Wednesday for Pennsylvania showed revenues up statewide for August but down for nearby Presque Isle Downs and Casino in Erie, the closest competitor to the Horseshoe.

Last month, Presque Isle's gross revenue from slots was down 9.2 percent, with $13.4 million in gross revenue compared to $14.7 million in August 2011.

The second closest casino to Cleveland, the Rivers in Pittsburgh on the other hand saw slot revenue jump 4.9 percent. The Rivers brought in $23.9 million in slot revenue last month.
