CLEVELAND - Several hundred people packed the St. Rocco parking lot off of Fulton Road in Cleveland to get a glimpse of the annual Greasy Pole Climb.

Roughly a dozen teams of five people attempted to climb to the top of a grease-covered telephone pole. The first team to touch one of the crossbars at the top won a $1,000 prize.

This year's winning team has taken home the trophy three years in a row. The secret to their success appears to be wearing lots of duct tape and no shoes.

The competition is a longstanding tradition at St. Rocco's, which stems from an old Italian ritual.

This year marks the 98th annual Festival of St. Rocco . Proceeds from the festival benefit St. Rocco Church and School.
