CLEVELAND - A 29-year-old man was sentenced to spend 30 years to life in prison for killing his grandparents at their Cleveland home.
Cleveland police said Anthony King killed his grandparents, 75-year-old Jim King and 72-year-old Wava King, at their Virginia Avenue home in April.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office said both victims died from a blunt impact to the head which caused skull and brain injuries.
The couple's daughter lived with her parents and awoke to find her mother dead on the couch, covered in blood, pillows and a blanket. Jim King was found beaten to death in the basement.
After the murders, authorities said Anthony King stole his grandparents' vehicle and was later arrested in Parma.
Sentencing took place inside a Cuyahoga County Common Pleas courtroom.
