CLEVELAND - The family of a 23-month-old girl who died in a car accident Saturday has set up a fund to help cover funeral costs.
Police said Verianna Owens was playing outside her home on Somerset Avenue in Cleveland when a car pulled into the driveway and struck her. She was pronounced dead at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital.
A fund has been set up in Verianna's honor to help cover burial expenses. Donations can be made at any U.S. Bank.
Cleveland Police continue to investigate the accident, but have said the 40-year-old driver didn't see the child because a van parked in the street blocked his view.
No charges have been filed.
