CLEVELAND - A former reporter at WEWS NewsChannel5 has died after battling cancer. He was 42.
Brian McIntyre of Cleveland Heights passed away at the Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland Sunday night.
He most recently served as community relations specialist for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.
Prior to his job at CMSD, he worked as a reporter at the Ohio News Network, WNWO-TV and WEWS NewsChannel5.
McIntyre was a proud graduate of Ohio University’s Scripps School of Journalism (1991), and continually contributed to student mentoring programs, including the school’s annual RTDNA journalism conference.
A Cleveland native, McIntyre graduated from John Marshall High School in 1987.
Two qualities many people most likely recall about McIntyre are probably his smile and ability to make others laugh.
McIntyre leaves behind his wife, Megan, and young son, Gavin.
