RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Ohio - In a 12-minute news conference on Monday, Tim Lawless, the brother-in-law of Patrick Borally and family spokesman, said it remains unclear why Patrick Borally disappeared. But, the family is happy he's safe and alive.

"We had no indication he left on his own free will," said Lawless. "It's totally out of character, but we've been saying that for a week. I just don't quite understand it."
It seemed there were more questions than answers at the news conference, as Lawless was unable to explain why Borally took off and never told his family where he was going or why.
"People will think what they want and I'm not here to change opinions," said Lawless.
Borally was found safe in Ontario, Canada on Sunday night, after he was reported missing on Sept. 26 by his family. Lawless said Borally was checked out at a hospital in Ontario to make sure he was of "sound mind" and was released Monday morning.
Lawless confirmed Borally is en route back home to Lyndhurst. Earlier on Monday, authorities said that their investigations were concluded, and no charges were going to be filed.
"I do know this is the ending that was the best one possible we could've hoped for. The alternative wouldn't have been good," said Lawless, who thanked the media for all their help and support in spreading the word about Borally's disappearance. He was also grateful to the numerous volunteers who spent their time looking for the businessman over the weekend.
Borally has spoken to his wife, Kathy, briefly.
"Kathy was happy he was alive and healthy," Lawless said, who added it's been very "tough" on their kids. "They don't know what's happened and why (their dad) went missing. Hopefully, we'll get answers to why Patrick left, soon."
When asked if Borally apologized, Lawless said, "I would have to imagine he apologized, but I don't know for sure."
Lawless doesn't anticipate Borally will make any statements to the media, but he's sure the 41-year-old will have some explaining to do to his family.
"We really want to give them the respect they deserve to get through this troubled week," Lawless said. "We thank the media. You guys were a tremendous help. Now, we would like to ask for a little bit of privacy."
