CLEVELAND - Form, function, fashion, fabrication, fun and fine furniture will all fill the 4th annual Cleveland F* SHO .
"F* SHO is Cleveland's furniture show, contemporary - we're all designers, we're all makers," said organizer Jason Radcliffe. "We're all trying to make this happen here in Cleveland."
Radcliffe and about 30 other furniture fabricators will display their talents and wares this Friday at an 8,000 square foot exhibit space in the Cleveland Twist Drill Company Building at the corner of East 49th Street and Lakeside Avenue.
According to Radcliffe, the location connects the F* SHO to the history of industry and manufacturing in the near-east-side, St. Clair-Superior neighborhood.
"It's a very industrial warehouse area -- lots of manufacturing," Radcliffe said. "We're trying to show you that area -- no one ever goes to that area of Cleveland."
Radcliffe said he expects more than 2,000 visitors to this year's F* SHO. Industry insiders are welcome from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and the event is open to the general public until 10 p.m.
The Black Pig is the signature sponsor of the 2012 F* SHO and will provide food and drinks. There will also be musical entertainment. Ample secured parking is provided directly across the street on Lakeside Avenue.
"We want you to come and see what we're doing, what we're building," Radcliffe said. "You don't have to buy from big name stores, you can buy local from us -- and our stuff is not disposable, it is lifetime furniture."
