CLEVELAND - In an exclusive interview with the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office, NewsChannel5 has learned of a major sex crime indictment.

Prosecutors said Timothy Rogers, 24, of Akron, was looking to have sex with children.

He was indicted by a grand jury Friday afternoon on five charges, including attempted rape and attempted kidnapping.

It’s alleged that on December 19, Rogers posted an ad on craigslist looking for a family "to share a taboo experience with," explained Jesse Canonico, assistant prosecuting attorney.

The ad was spotted by a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC).

On Dec. 30, Rogers meet up with a man he thought was the father of a 6-year-old and 12-year-old girl in the parking lot of the Bob Evans in the 5000 block of Rockside Road in Independence. But the "father" was really an undercover agent with the ICAC.

The two men agreed to go over to the Red Roof Inn on Quarry Lane to meet up with the young girls. Once Rogers got into the car and made his way over to the hotel, police were waiting for and arrested him.

Rogers has no felony record, only misdemeanor offenses, according to the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office.

Rogers is scheduled to appear in court on Monday. If convicted, he could get 17 years in prison.
