CLEVELAND - You can help local foodbanks in need across northeast Ohio and experience the thrills of a circus by donating shelf-stable food items in exchange for a free voucher to Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey DRAGONS coming to The Q in October.

Beginning Sept. 17 and lasting through Sept. 23, Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Presents DRAGONS will partner with the Cleveland Foodbank and Quicken Loans Arena to host a Courage to Fight Cleveland Hunger event.

Food donations, such as beef stew, canned soup, canned vegetables, cereal, peanut butter and tuna fish, are especially needed by the hunger shelter and can be dropped off at The Q box office (1 Center Court) during regular hours (Monday - Saturday, 9:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday, 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.).

All donated items should be nonperishable and sealed in its original packaging.

To ensure the Cleveland Foodbank receives the items they need to feed northeast Ohio's hungry, one free voucher to DRAGONS will be given for each $10 food donation, while supplies last.

Any donation valued at less than $10 will be exchanged for one circus discount coupon, while supplies last. There is a two coupon limit per family.

Vouchers and coupons are good for any weeknight performance (excluding Friday evening) and can be exchanged for a ticket at the Quicken Loans Arena box office.

"Over 30 million people in the United States live in households that experience hunger and food insecurity. The Foodbank solicits donated food and nonfood products from food manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, and community partners, like Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey,” said Karen Pozna, Director of Communications at the Cleveland Foodbank in a news release. “We then distribute it to more than 600 hunger programs that serve the needy in northeast Ohio, including children, the working poor, the unemployed, the elderly, the homeless and the chronically ill.”

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus premieres an all-new production, DRAGONS, at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland Oct. 17 – 22 as part of a 90-city U.S. tour. Honoring The Year of the Dragon, circus performers from the farthest reaches of the earth have assembled for Ringling Bros. presents DRAGONS to showcase their astounding acts of bravery and astonishing athleticism.

Ringmaster Johnathan Lee Iverson presides over this fantastical celebratory tournament of circus champions that brings together mystic dragon lore with authentic circus feats. DRAGONS is a never-before-seen blend of renowned spiritual and real life legends that can be found only at The Greatest Show On Earth!
