CLEVELAND - The new Constantino's Market University Circle is within days of opening.
On Wednesday, workers were busy stocking shelves, training on the new checkout registers and learning procedures in the deli and hot food areas.
Located near Euclid Avenue and East 115th Street, the new market is larger than the one on West 9th Street mainly due to an eating area that is elevated to a second floor. The extra space allowed for a larger prepared foods section.
The new market has the look and feel of the original. The philosophy of this urban market, according to Andrew Revy of Constantino's is based on "quality food and great customer service."
"We have an unofficial motto that 'We may not have everything, but we have everything you need.' It's your everyday grocery items, all the way up to your gourmet and boutique items."
This market also features a larger walk-in beer cooler that contains the standard labels as well as many lesser known beers. Revy feels the large variety constantly changing micro-brews and specialty beers "allows people to try new beers at all times."
Revy said the market is well positioned being near Case Western Reserve University , University Hospitals , the existing neighborhood and the new apartments being constructed in the area.
The market offers full catering services. The dining area is available for private parties, there is a small conference room as well as a wine tasting room.
Revy said they plan to hire up to 30 additional people by the end of the year.
The new market expects to be open within one week.
