CLEVELAND - Thousands of people set out to participate in the Commitment Day 5K event in downtown Cleveland, vowing to live healthier.
Men, women, families, co-workers and neighbors are making a commitment to live the healthy way of life while inspiring others to do the same in 2013.
The Commitment Day run takes place simultaneously in 25 cities across the nation.
Members and non-members are eligible to receive a free training plan from Life Time Run. Plans are available in three levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced.
The Commitment Day 5K comes at a time of year when the nation is at a breaking point with ever-rising obesity rates, a generation of children facing serious health consequences, escalating health care costs and controllable diseases spiraling out of control. Event organizers say the time for us to take action is now.
Those who participated in the event did so for various reasons. Watch the video above to see why.
