CLEVELAND - Most people would never run around publicly in their underwear on a warm day, let alone on a cold day in February.

But when it came to helping out a charity, many Clevelanders found a way to step up to the plate Saturday participating in Cleveland's first Cupid's Undie Run to help raise money for children suffering from Neurofibromatosis, a neurological disorder.

Bobby Gill, the co-founder of the Cleveland Cupid's Undie run said, "We wanted to do something that really made a difference so that we could raise as much as possible for this cause. We came up with this idea of an undie run and hey! It worked!."

Participants paid a $25 registration fee to run approximately a mile throughout the Tremont neighborhood. The Cleveland Cavaliers, Lake Erie Monsters and Quicken Loans Arena also helped to sponsor the event.

"It's such a good time and so much money has been raised... I just love it," said Gill.

This year marks Cleveland's first ever Cupid's Undie Run, however 18 other cities around the world host it annually for the same cause.

Around eight hundred runners took the streets Saturday afternoon raising an estimated $125 thousand for the fight against neurofibromatosis.
