CLEVELAND - A Cleveland woman was assaulted and robbed by a man claiming to be a police officer Saturday afternoon.

Around 1:10pm, the female victim entered the lobby of the Second District and reported that she was traveling on East 79th Street near Korman Avenue in the Fifth District when she was stopped by what she believed to be an undercover police vehicle.

The woman described the vehicle as a black Chevy Caprice with tinted windows and a “bubble” light. She told police that after stopping, a black male, 5’7, 150-170 pounds, wearing all black, approached her vehicle. She said that she was sexually assaulted and that the male took money and medication from her purse and then drove away. She then called 911 and went to the Second District to file the report.

Police are not releasing any further information at this time.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Unit at 216-623-5630.
