CLEVELAND - A list of the nation's most literate cities was released early Thursday morning. For us in Northeast Ohio, Cleveland just missed the top 10 by coming in at 13th.
For the second year in a row, Washington D.C. is No. 1. It’s followed by Seattle and Minneapolis.
Here’s the rest of the top 10:
4. Atlanta
5. Boston
6. Pittsburgh
7. Cincinnati
8. St. Louis
9. San Francisco
10. Denver
The study was compiled by Central Connecticut State University. It looks at newspaper circulation, the number of bookstores and other factors.
Cleveland ranked second lowest for median family income data, but because of higher rankings for its library system and newspaper circulations, it was able to jump up to 13th. For more information on the study click here: http://on.wews.com/zC499d
