CLEVELAND - Cleveland police welcome a new furry member, along with a 19-year veteran to the canine unit.
Patrol officer Doug Nichols, a 19-year veteran, joins the canine unit along with his backup officer, Hugo.
Hugo is a 2-year-old German Shepherd born in the Czech Republic. Commands are given to Hugo in Czech.
A tennis ball is Hugo's favorite toy and eating his favorite hobby.
Hugo finished the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy and is a certified police canine.
On Monday, Hugo began his career as a narcotics and patrol dog.
Hugo will live with Officer Nichols and his family.
