CLEVELAND - Cleveland police say a student is in custody after bringing a gun to East Tech High School Wednesday.
According to authorities, officers were called out to East Tech High School around 10:15 a.m. after a 17 year old student brought a gun to school in his book bag.
The unloaded weapon was discovered during a search of the student's bag.
As part of the school district's standard procedure the school was placed on lockdown for a short period of time before classes were allowed to resume.
The student was arrested and faces charges of carrying a concealed weapon and receiving stolen property as police say the gun was stolen.
This is the second weapon found at East Tech High School in as many months. The school is equipped with metal detetectors and wands at each of its entrances as well as security cameras.
