CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Police Athletic League needs donations for its annual holiday party for children in need.
For the last two years, the Cleveland Police Athletic League has hosted about 3,000 kids and their families for food, games, gifts and Santa Claus. The event is Saturday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and tickets are handed out by local organizations to those who need some extra holiday cheer.
The athletic league said it only takes a dollar per child to make a difference and they are more than 1,500 toys short of the goal. They are also accepting donations of bottled water, soda, juice, pizza sandwiches, granola bars and chips.
Monetary donations can be sent to Cleveland Police Athletic League, 1300 Ontario St., Cleveland, OH 44113 Attention: Christmas party. You can also donate online at clevelandpal.org.
