CLEVELAND - The man accused in a New Year’s Day murder in Cleveland was arrested Wednesday morning.
Marcellus Smith, 22, was wanted for aggravated murder in the shooting death of Nathan Brown. Cleveland police said Smith and his brother, Montel Smith, broke into a house on Hilgert Avenue on Jan. 1 and killed Brown with a shotgun.
Marcellus Smith was arrested at about 8:30 a.m. on Buckingham Avenue near Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, police said. He was considered armed and dangerous.
Montel Smith has already been arrested in connection with the crime.
Brown’s death was the city’s first homicide of the year.
