Cleveland Metroparks Zoo drops admission rates as winter nears

CLEVELAND - As winter nears, the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is lowering its admission prices for children and adults.

Between Nov. 1 and March 1, admission to see the animals will only cost adults $8.25 and children, age 2-11, $5.25.

It's a savings of $4 per adult and $3 per child.

Zoo officials said many of the animals are more active in cooler temperatures, especially the six different bear species, Amur tigers, reindeer, Mexican gray wolves, seals and sea lions.

After your brisk walk, you can warm up by the fire inside the cabin at Wolf Wilderness and visit the bald eagle, beavers and brook trout.

The Zoo has free heated winter transportation, making it easy to visit the rest of the animals.

Don't forget about a walk through The RainForest, where it’s always 78-80 degrees.

You could also choose to learn all about how the Zoo provides state-of-the-art care for its animals at the Sarah Allison Steffee Center for Zoological Medicine.

The zoo is open every day from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
