CLEVELAND - A 28-year-old man is under arrest after police say he tried to pass fake bills.

Jerome Robinson, of Cleveland, was arrested on New Year’s Eve after authorities discovered he had passed or attempted to pass counterfeit $50 bills at various places.

Police also said Robinson filed a false police report after he tried to pass some of the fake bills in Cleveland and Cleveland police were called.

He allegedly made up a story about getting the counterfeit bills from the PNC bank in Solon and was told he would have to file a report about it in Solon.

Robinson has also been charged with falsification.
