CLEVELAND - With little fanfare, the new Cleveland Hostel has opened and is welcoming guests from around the world.

NewsChannel5 visited the unique Cleveland establishment as it completed it's second week in business and spoke with Proprietor Mark Raymond.

Raymond said his 15-room, 60-bed hostel has been getting lots of interest, inquiries and bookings -- including guests from 5 continents.

"We've already had people from Taiwan, Australia, Norway and Germany," said Raymond. " And repeat customers too."

Raymond said one guest flew from Dayton in his small plane and enjoyed the hostel and surrounding Ohio City area so much he returned a few days later with his wife.

According to Raymond, the facility opened on August, 17, after receiving final inspection and permits from the City of Cleveland. Initially, the opening had been planned for late June.

The Cleveland Hostel website advertises rooms starting at $25 and their Facebook page already has more than 1,000 likes.
