CLEVELAND - A Cleveland company is recalling all of its alfalfa sprouts because of possible listeria contamination.
The Cleveland Beansprouts Company has recalled all of alfalfa sprouts, which were only distributed in Ohio. The Ohio Department of Agriculture found the contamination.
Listeria monctyongenes can cause deadly infections for people with weakened immune systems. Symptoms include nausea, high fever, headache and abdominal pain. No illnesses have been reported.
Anyone with alfalfa sprouts from the Cleveland Beansprouts Company should throw them away. There are no lot codes to identify the product.
